Tenuta Arabona

Tenuta Arabona is a family run organic winery founded by Maria Antonietta and Domenico in 2006. We are located in Manoppello, in the Province of Pescara, in Abruzzo.
Even if the winery was founded in 2006, its origins date back to the ’60s, when Domenico’s parents, passionate winemakers, created a small farm. Since the 80’s Domenico started to dedicate himself to the company, increasing its size and starting a slow and deep restructuring, until obtaining in 1991 the organic farming certification.

Today our estate includes 25 hectares of vineyards and 1,5 hectares of olive grove. We mainly cultivate Abruzzo’s typical varieties, such as Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino and Passerina, but also international vines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
Being a family run winery, all the production processes, from the cultivation, to the harvest, to the vinification are directly controlled and led by the owners.
The grapepicking is exclusively handmade and we work with a zero km process, as the winery is located in the middle of our vineyards and the grapes are immediately processed after being picked, preserving their integrity and quality.

Our winery is equipped with the latest technologies for winemaking, yet rooted in ancient traditions, in order to maintain the authentic, natural flavours of the grapes. All these factors contribute to the production of great excellance wines.

Since our opening, we have always been implementing sustainable practices: we installed solar panels to produce our own electricity, we recycle the process waters reusing them for irrigation, we reutilize the marc as fertilizers.

During the last decade we continued growing and improving our product range. By now we are exporting our products through Europe and Canada and we are always seeking for new commercial partners to reach more markets worldwide. Our wines have been awarded and reviewed several times by Italian and International guides. During the last year we received awards from Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Mundus Vini and Millésime Bio Challenge.
Since 2022 our company is certified as "Bear friendly" company, being located in the area of the Majella natural Park, that is inhabited by the marsican bear. By implementing organic farming methods and sustainable practices, we contibute to the protection of the natural environment.
