Sancarraro is the nickname -“ngiuria“- given to the family Anselmi and its descendants since the 1800s, as it is said that the ancestors of the Anselmi they used to go to the town of piano San Carlo, located in the municipality of Mazara del Vallo, near the current nature reserve of Lake Preola and Gorghi Tondi, to cultivate their own vineyards.
The Anselmi family, which has been cultivating vineyards for generations, produces quality grapes. Among the cultivated varieties, Grillo, a native vine, which in the area of Triglia, near the sea, has particular perfumes and aromas derived from the salinity and residues of Posidonia algae, which the wind distributes in the neighboring lands, deserves a particular mention.
