Riva dei Frati SRL
http://www.rivadeifrati.it
Riva dei Frati located in the heart of Prosecco Superiore, derives its name from a vineyard situated in the area of Valdobbiadene, once cultivated by Dominican friars.
Documents conserved in the archives of Treviso, show that this land belonged to Treviso's San Nicolò Dominican friars in the 15th century and back then, they were already producing prestigious wines.
This unique place of its kind, nestled between the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, is where the history of the company begins, owned by the Adami Merotto family, guardian of these magnificent slopes.
Cesare and Marisa Adami Merotto entered the wine producing business in 1988, combining the tradition of viticulture handed down over generations, focussing their energy, passion and hard work to find ways of improving their Prosecco Superiore Wine.
Today, Adami Merotto family aims to offer quality prestigious wines always from a sustainable point of view.
The Prosecco area of production stretches across 15 municipalities of hilly terrain. The typical inclination of the hills limits and makes the use of machines practically impossible. For this reason, the cultivation of the vines is normally carried out by family-owned wineries that use natural materials, like wooden poles, to conserve the original landscape.
