San Michele Vitivinicola

The San Michele winery was founded in 1955 by the hand of the Federconsorzi and, subsequently, was taken over by the Ai.Ma (company for interventions on the agricultural market).
In the years to come (1977) the cooperative was formed which, at the beginning, took over the management of the building and, after twenty years (1997), bought the whole structure, thanks to the help of the latter's three hundred and fifty members.
Today the San Michele Wine Cooperative is a company that has been technologically renewed and expanded, adapting to the hygienic-sanitary specifications up to the conservation of the wine and the bottling of the product harvested and subsequently processed by the members.
The company covers about 550 hectares of vineyards arranged on gentle and exposed slopes so as to be able to receive solar radiation all day every day. Its capacity exceeds 40,000 quintals and the best known grapes processed are the following:
-Montepulciano, an intense red wine;
-Troia, a dark wine that goes well with most of the local cuisine;
-Moscato, golden and brilliant white wine with a characteristic aroma, suitable for combinations of desserts and light dishes.
Other types of wines processed in the cellar are Sangiovese, Aglianico, white Malvasia, Trebbiano and Moscatello.
Our wines are highly appreciated in the area and are enjoying well-deserved success in festivals, wine bars and restaurants in Italy and beyond.
