Located in the industrial area of Corigliano Rossano, in the heart of the Piana di Sibari, Medi Mais Calabra srl was born in 1996 as a commercial branch of Itagal srl founded in 1986 by Mr. Ermanno Gallo, it carries out the activity of producing citrus juices. It covers an area of about 20,000 square meters and transforms about 120,000 Ql of citrus fruits a year, of which 90% are made up of clementines. Since 2016 the company has been investing in the research of new Clemì brand products, based on clementines, precisely to enhance the main product of the Piana di Sibari, famous all over the world for its organoleptic qualities. Clemì is a lightly carbonated drink that focuses on quality: modern, healthy, Mediterranean and with the unmistakable taste of clementines. Choosing Clemì means focusing on a product that looks to the consumer's health and quality, in fact it contains 20% juice, is gluten-free and is free from colorings and preservatives. In 2018 she was the winner of the national Oscar Green award of Coldiretti. In addition to the carbonated drink in 33 cl cans, Clemì is on the market with other products. For the Horeca market, concentrated clementine and bergamot juice was created, in 7 kg cans or 1 kg bottles, used to make granitas, sorbets, ice creams, drinks and cocktails. A study was carried out on this product by Macrofarm (a spin-off of the University of Calabria) to determine the biological properties of the drink obtained from the preparation, from which a potential antioxidant and hypolipidemic effect emerged. The last born is the Glaze Clemì, in the flavors: clementines, bergamot, red onion and chilli pepper. Its taste enhances the flavor of dishes (appetizers, first courses, second courses, cheeses, desserts, pizzas, pinse) and is ideal for giving them a creative touch.
