Our company
The Company La Gaetana, specialized in agricultural, was founded in 1970,
based on an idea by Francesco La Gaetana, father of the two brothers Dario
and Domenico. Generational transition has also led to an expansion of the family
business in terms of volumes and product variety, as well as a continuous and
scrupulous quality improvement during the years.

The company F.lli La Gaetana S.S. has its headquarter in Palma di Montechiaro (AG).
Overall, the company owns about 60 hectares of cultivated land, in the province
of Agrigento, in particular between the Municipalities of Favara, Licata and
Campobello di Licata. Grape production is the main activity of the company.
The table grape represents 80% of the production; the remaining 20% of the production
is concentrated on the production of grapes destined for wine.
The varieties of white table grapes with cultivated seeds are "Vittoria" and "Uva Italia IGP",
while the black grapes are "Red Globe" and "BlackPearl".

are "Sugar Drop", while the rosé
grapes are "Crimson".

The Production chain
Always, we pay attention to all phases of production chain, since the phase of
production to the selection phase process, packaging and shipping.
The production follow the guideline of the Integrated Management Guide.
In addition, the coding system used allows the traceability of the product from
production to the final consumption stage. In order to preserve the organoleptic
characteristics, the packaging of the product is done at the same time of the harvest,
during the coolest hours of the day, while storage takes place at the conditioning
center at the headquarter or the production is immediately sent directly to the final
Customer by special transport with a controlled temperature to ensure maximum
aromas and flavors of the product as just collected.

The Production phase
The numerous land properties of the company and the different grape varieties
grown, allow a continuous and constant harvest for a long period of time.
The harvest period runs from June to December of each year. The harvest begins
in June with the Vittoria and Sugar Drop varieties until mid-August, while the other
varieties are harvested in the period from mid-August to the end of October
until December.
The company has signed new collaboration contracts with International Fruit
Genetics or "IF.G.", with the aim of providing customers with a varied list of grapes and
with the aim of increasing its presence on the international market.

The grape harvest
While making use of the most modern production technologies,
the collection, selection and packaging of our grapes, today as in the past, i
t is carried out strictly by hand taking care of and respecting the delicacy of the fruit,
guaranteeing a high quality standard while leaving the aromas unaltered of the
land of origin.
