SWEET- VEGAN PIES

The crostata is perhaps the oldest Italian dessert as there is no historical reference from which its genesis can be traced. It descends from the pastiera made by a nun in the ancient convent of S. Gregorio Armeno. The modern pastiera actually combines ingredients in the way we know it today from the popular recipe that already existed. Eventually everyone interpreted the tart in their own way, as can be seen from the many different recipes that exist.
