The Piombaia Farm is located in Montalcino and extends over 210 hectares: 70 hectares of arable land, 2 hectares of olive groves, 2 hectares of vegetables and woods but the 12 hectares of vines are the beating heart of our production activity. In the fifth generation of the Rossi-Cantini family, the brothers Vittorio, Francesco and Cecilia manage the family business, choosing since 2008 to apply the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture that have completely revolutionized the way of living and working the vineyard: no more the use of synthetic fertilizers, chemical pesticides or large agricultural machinery but the rediscovery of the rhythms of nature, the passage of time, the choice to let the horses run freely in the vineyard used as natural herbicides. In such a harmonious context and in tune with the earth, the production approach also changes: wine becomes a product that nourishes the human being as well as making him enjoy. The tanks without controlled temperature, the spontaneous fermentation without the addition of yeasts and
sulphites, the aging in wood for a long time mean that our wines are a discovery with every sip, a journey enclosed in a bottle that tells about us. This is our goal: to make known our wines, our work, our professional ethics and our philosophy that we believe to be a uniqueness and a strength.
